The successor of the Xperia Arc has under the hood, and it is a logical evolution in the range that keeps its quality (sharpness, screen quality, photo sensor) and improves the technical part. The upcoming Sony Ericsson Android smartphone will be well equipped with Android 2.3.4 and sees its hardware boosted for the occasion.
The new Xperia Arc S is well equipped with a 1.4 GHz MSM8255 Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, a 4.2-inch touchscreen (854 x 480 pixels) with Mobile Technology Bravia Engine, a photo sensor 8.1-megapixel Exmor R with LED flash, HDMI output, a microSD slot, and WiFi connectivity, Bluetooth, aGPS, FM tuner. Its dimensions are contained as they are announced, rather than 125 x 63 x 8.7 mm and weighs 117 grams only.
It will also be possible to perform 2D and 3D panoramas. In this mode, the phone picks up several shots from different angles to generate a 3D image called panorama. It is not a 3D picture with two goals as is usual today. The Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S released in October, without elaborating on its price yet.
